This question depends on the way you look at it. Some people say apples come from apple trees. Others say that apples grow from the ground. Both statements are correct. All fruits are grown from the ground, whether they are off of a vine, a tree, or a plant. Technically they are from the ground because the seed is planted in the ground and without soil the fruit would not be able to grow.
