Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit / Gas Mark 4 / 180 Celsius Using the basic "cup" measurement, where the cup is your average 250ml / 8oz mug. Use 3 cups of bread or biscuits that are approximately a week old, they should be on the verge of stale. Rip up the bread into varied sized squares and place in a large mixing bowl. Add 2 eggs and 1/2 - a full (dependent on personal taste) cup of sugar to the bowl. Add seasoning as required, a teaspoon of cinnamon and vanilla is good. Mix in milk until the mixture looks like cake mixture, it should be nice and thick. Pour mixture into a greased square pan suitable for baking. Leave for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into even squares and serve.

Bread pudding is common enough that the average person should be able to find it in their local grocery store. If that isn't an option then bread pudding is incredibly easy and fun to make yourself. You can visit sites like Mom's Who Think for quick recipes.

As for bread pudding recipe how many slices of french bread minus crust equals one measured cup?

Well, it all depends on how you measure a cup. Depending on your cooking techniques it is the amount of bread that can be squished into a measuring cup. Mind you that if you measure in this way the bread will turn into a ball of dough. Another way you measure it is cutting/ripping the bread into chunks and gently dropping them in the cup. What you have to remember is that each method will get you a different amount of bread in the finished product. If you prefer bread pudding that is a bit chunkier then you can go with the first method, bread pudding with less bread will be using the second method.
