The Commonwealth of the Bahamas
The Commonwealth of the Bahamas (a.k.a. The Bahamas) is an island group off the Eastern Coast of Florida in the North Atlantic Ocean. Technically, the island chain is too far north to be considered part of the Caribbean Sea. The population est. in 2004 is 314,000. 222,000 out of 314,000 people are in Nassau, the capital. There are over 700 islands.
Actually, the Bahamas are considered a part of the Caribbean and the West Indies.
