Sliding glass door locks are available at all of the big home improvement stores. Places like Home Depot, Lowe's, Berry Home Centers, and Builders Supply Source all carry them in stock.
I would rather have a sliding door. A sliding door offers unparalleled convenience and efficiency. Sliding glass doors are also better because they are easier to lock from the inside and you can see out of them because they double as a window.

The child lock could be on.
If the sliding door on the 1999 Mercury Villager will not stay open, check for something that is not allowing the latching mechanism to lock into place. Make sure that the door is all the way back so that it can lock in.
To lock one side of a sliding mirrored closet door, a person can insert something in the channel for the slide mechanism that will stop movement of the door. A screw will accomplish this if it is left only halfway screwed in.

There is a child safety lock on the door itself,could be on the front end of sliding door too.not really sure though but good luck on that prob.

sliding door want open 89000 miles is their a way to open the sliding door when it will not open on the passenger door frame or housing is 2 rubber plugs i remove them i can see what look like 2 bolts with holes in them is their away to open the sliding door with them or any other way
1995 Dodge Grand Caravan-it is in the door jam area on the sliding door.There is an off and on selector
Take off door panel and on the inside of the door is a sliding latch pull it out this will release the lock. all the rest is just accessed the same way inside the door frame just detach all bolts and pull out.
