Are pitbulls indoor or outdoor dogs?

In my opinion and experience (I have owned Pit Bulls all my life and worked with them in a vet's office) Pit Bulls should be indoor dogs. In order to be well rounded and Happy, they need to be with the Family as much as possible. They need interaction with the Family and other pets from the start.

Yes. Whether you are comfortable keeping your dog indoors, is up to you. Pitbulls in particular have a bad reputation for turning on people, including their owners, and harming or even killing them. This may or may not be deserved, but there are recorded instances of such behaviour, and many people believe it isn't just a matter of training or abuse, but the traits that the dog was bred for. Like it or not, pitbulls were bred for fighting and killing and nothing else. On the flip side, many people swear that pitbulls are a very loving and loyal dog. As with any other dog, do some research before you make any decisions like owning one or deciding whether to keep it inside with you.

One more point, pitbulls are almost universally considered to be a 'one master dog'. Meaning that they will really only accept dominance from one person, no matter how many people are in the family.

They are loyal and protective of their family AND DO NOT EVER JUST TURN on anyone. This is another ridiculous myth. It has everything to do with training and socialization. It is a fact that pit bulls are very non-human-aggressive. They actually don't even make very good guard dogs, contrary to popular belief. Other than people being afraid of pit bulls based on their image, they are not very suitable for guard work because they simply are not naturally aggressive.

Many pit bull breeders today own guard dog breeds such as Rottweilers to protect their pit bulls from being stolen by burglars because they are people lovers and won't protect themselves. Anyone who has any legitimate knowledge of Dog Breeds knows that pit bulls are usually great with kids. It is just plain common sense not to leave any dog alone with small children but pit bulls are certainly not bad with children compared to most other dog breeds.

Historically pit bulls have been a favorite companion and friend to children and tend to like the excitement of being with kids. As long as they are socialized and trained properly, pit bulls are the perfect dog breed to withstand the rough play of kids

I have a mostly indoor pitbull and he does excellent. You will need to walk and interact (play) with your dog to keep him/her from becoming bored and possibly destructive. The key to keeping dogs indoors is attention and affection.

They're kept as pets therefore you have to buy them from a breeder.

They live in your house, thats if you want one of course

Of course it can, but it is way easier for the owner to keep it outside (if he/ she has a house, not an apartment)
