You should be able to use a cupcake pan to make a gelatin mold. You might want to put wax paper in the pan though or just get a gelatin mold.
Cupcake pans usually have multiples of six in them. For example, small cupcake pans will have six cupcake holders in them, larger ones will have twelve, and quite large cupcake pans will have up to 24. Of course, there are exceptions but that is the most common.
Spray a muffin pan and use it without cupcake paper cups. You can cut squares of baking paper and shape them into the pan holes. This can look quite effective. The cupcake shop called Sweet Revenge sometimes does this.
Yes, that would be a good idea to keep the cupcakes from sticking to the pan. I've also seen aluminum cupcake wrappers, those work well too. Put the papers inside a cupcake pan though, not directly on an oven rack.
They might, but it's best to use a brownie pan.

Try putting cupcake tins in a cake pan, make sure they are close together so they dont let the cupcake mix through the sides. Then fill them. After they are filled, bake as instructions are written.
