Good Luck. We have been trying to find one for our Dakota. The mechanic we went to said that Dodge doesn't make them anymore and that it will cost more than the truck is worth to customize a wire harness.
2006 Dodge Dakota - Where do i find the trailer wiring harness
go to www.autozone.com,
It is on the wiring harness under the hood on the passenger side of the firewall.
The wiring harness will not work. In 1992, Dodge introduced the "Magnum" series motors. These motors were MPFI (Multi-Point Fuel Injection) motors whereas the motor in the 1990 Dakota was TBI (Throttle Body Injection.) On this fact alone, you'll be missing the connections required for the fuel system if you use the wiring harness. The computer management systems were also vastly different so you would not be able to plug into the Engine Control Unit (ECU) with the wiring harness.
Autozone.com has free repair info for a lot of vehicles. It has wiring diagrams for the 1993 dodge dakota. I would link directly to it, but you need to know the engine size and if it's 2 or 4 wheel drive.
A 1991 Dakota is not OBD2 compliant. It is OBD1, and the diagnostic connector is under the hood on the wiring harness on the passenger side firewall.A 1991 Dakota is not OBD2 compliant. It is OBD1, and the diagnostic connector is under the hood on the wiring harness on the passenger side firewall.
The OBD 1 port is under the hood on the wiring harness on the passenger side firewall.
You can find repair manuals at almost any auto parts store that will show you the wiring diagrams of your vehicle.
