J.R.R. Tolkien wrote "The Silmarillion" that his son edited and published after his father's death. It is the history of the Elven folk from their creation onward. Tolkien's son Christopher, has compiled his father's notes about Middle Earth into ten volumes, called the History of Middle Earth that is available for those that want to dig into the world he created. Much of the basics changed over time, and you can see the evolution of the stories.
The Silmarillion is the history of Middle-Earth from the beginning of the Universe through to the events that occur during The Lord of the Rings. It is mainly a history of the elves, and, through the elves' dealings with other races, peripherally the history of Men, Dwarves, and Hobbits.
If you mean elves as in Santa's elves then there are to many to find out the names of ALL of them.
The climax of the story The Elves and The Shoemaker is when the Shoemaker catches the elves. He had wondered for many nights who was helping him fix the shoes and was shocked to find out elves where his mystery helpers.

You can't. Most people believe that elves are mythical creatures, therefor impossible to give a gift to

They are magic so, they have golden dust which they eat and they are able to fly for 24 hours! But some Elves just kinda teleport but you find out which one you do.
You can get them by picking tomatoes at Cowboy Junction, picking Frog Berries on Forest of the Elves, or treasure hunting at Forest of the Elves
Elves are more humorous and playful, and enjoy singing and making jokes. Dwarves are more serious and aren't as playful as the elves. Dwarves find elves immature and irritating.
If, by "the elves's" you mean Glorfindel, the elf lord sent from Rivendell to find Frodo and company, then his horse's name was Asfaloth.
