Where can you find ideas for an arts fundraiser?

Arts Fundraising Ideas

Auctions appear to be among the top arts fundraisers. Holding an art auction is a great way for non-profit organizations to raise money, for artist-donors to get free publicity and for bidders to get an array of art at reasonable prices.

Here are more suggestions for arts fundraising from other WikiAnswers Contributors:

  • One good fundraiser we use at work is to silent auction premium parking spaces in one month blocks. We also installed signs at the parking spaces saying: This spaced reserved for our special "name of charity" contributor, "removable name plate."

  • You can also do a search online for your particular "art" fundraiser.....example: ballet fundraisers, theatre fundraisers and so on.

  • One very successful short term fundraiser we had was "Win a Dinner Month for a Year" We were able to secure a local caterer to agree to provide two casseroles a month for one year. We then secured a bakery that provided two desserts a month for a one year and one additional "birthday" cake. The grand prize - Dinner and dessert once a month for one year. Second prize - Dinner once a month for one year. Third prize - Dessert once a month for one year. Fourth prize - Birthday cake. We got the raffle ticket printing donated by a local printer, and on the ticket was the name of the caterer and bakery. Tickets were sold for $2.00 each. People went crazy buying the tickets. Who wouldn't want to win those prizes? In just a couple of months, we raised over $2,000. Wasn't a "big" moneymaker but it was at no cost and simple. As I said, everyone was buying the tickets because the prizes were so great. A staff member picked up the desserts each month and the caterer delivered the meals to our office. Winners came to the office with big smiles to pick up their prizes each month.

  • As with any fundraiser, the more time you spend, the more money you'll make! We did a wonderful cookbook featuring recipes from long-time city & county residents and the more popular area restaurants, as well as city, county and state elected officials. Most peope are more than willing to send in a recipe if someone contacts them to ask. We managed to get the printing donated (a huge plus)and asked a local artist to sketch the chapter breaks. In four months, we've raised over $10,000.The key to this was making sure the book was truly unique and well-done. One of the biggest fundraisers in our area is a "Country Ball" . Live and silent auctions are a great way to raise money providing you have high-quality items for bid. We once auctioned off 'dates' with high-profile individuals and those in the service industry (police, fire, rescue, etc.) That one was a tremendous success!! Other successful auctions included week-end stays at B&B's, an aerial tour of the city and a scenic boat tour. Utilizing the services of volunteers is another way to cut expenses of a fundraiser.
  • Another fundraiser that has been very sucessful is to raffle off a house, example: 18,000 tickets x $150 per ticket = $2,700,000 of which will pay for the house as well as give a huge amount for the Arts.

Other ideas could be an art quiz, or a charity race night.
