There is quite a bit of information about Springfield trapdoor rifles in Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms. Model identification is a bit difficult from the dates stamped on them - if your gun is marked 1869 on the lock, it is probably a Model 1868; if it is a Model 1869, it should have a date between 1863 and 1865.
