Because of the nature of repairs on existing structures its difficult to mostly impossible to price a job correctly without viewing it personally. Ask questions about the scope of repairs and get a detailed quote of work to be preformed, materials provided and detailed cost and payment structure.
Hire a licensed and insured professional pool dealer, get some referrals and go ahead with that remodel job just like any other part of your home.
3rd and correct answer: Hire someone with extensive REMODELING experience. If you call pool builders they will just subcontract the work to someone else and jack up the price. Many subs are good at what they do and nothing else. You want a remodeler that does most if not all the work in house. You always need someone with a brain to make sure the workers do everything the right way. Call a half dozen companies and hopefully someone will rise to the top and you will know you are dealing with an expert. I bought a house with an inground pool that was filled partially with demolition debris; bricks, cinderblocks, sheetrock tile, leaves. The owner wanted to bury it as well, he didn't fill it all the way, it looked like a black water pond. The gunite shells will last forever. All the other stuff may need replacement and you may need to re-plaster it. I live in the North East and found an old timer in the yellow pages that replaced my tile, coping an plastered for $5000.
