Many governments have an application form that should be filled in and the request sent to their official department like in the UK. You can however find other online sites that can search these records for you for a fee, they also give you additional information about adoptions and the procedure of unsealing your records. However it is recommended that you go through the official government records system.

The first place to start is finding a lawyer who can help find and open closed records. You may also try hiring a private investigator who may be able to help.
