The Stagate series include SG-1, Atlantis, and the new series Universe. SG-1 has over all ten seasons and Atlantis was cancelled on it's fifth season. The producers decided to cancel Atlantis and proceed on making a Stargate Atlantis movie with the setting taking place right after the last episode of Stargate Atlantis. Stargate Universe or "SGU" is very different from Stargate Atlantis. The Main differences are that SGU is very linear, it is recommended that you watch each episode in order. Where Atlantis is show where you can hope in and out of. Stargate Atlantis story line is based on a specialized group of international miltary/citzens are sent to find the lost city of Atlantis. Where SGU is group is unwilling and unknowingly sent to a massive ancient starship millions of light-years from earth with no way of reinforcements or help from earth. The members of this SGU team must survive on abandon ship while also try and find a way home. SGU is much more serious then Atlantis.
