Sina Tamaddon, Senior Vice-President of Applications at Apple, is rumored to be a possible replacement for Steve Jobs.
In addition to his present position, he has also served as Sr. Vice-President of Worldwide Service & Support, and Vice-President and General Manager of Newton Group, the division that developed and marketed one of Apple's few product failures, the Newton PDA.
Prior to joining Apple in 1997, Mr. Tamaddon held several positions at NeXT, most recently acting as Vice-President for Europe.
Sina Tamaddon was a student at Purdue University in the mid-1980s, but did not graduate from that institution, according to the Purdue Alumni Office. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Orsay, France.
Mr. Tamaddon was born in Iran.
