Where did William Shakespeare reside?

Shakespeare lived in a number of houses in London, some of which we are aware of because he got into trouble for not paying his taxes and things like that. The first address we know of was in the city of London. After the Globe was built he moved to lodgings closer to the Globe, in Southwark, but moved out again. During the period of his greatest creativity (well, part of it anyway) he was boarding with a wigmaker called Christopher Mountjoy at his home at the corner of Silver and Monkwell Streets. We know about this one because Shakespeare was called as a witness to a breach of contract suit involving Mountjoy and his apprentice. Later in his career he bought a house in Blackfriars, near to the Blackfriars theatre, for which we have the actual deed of purchase.

He is known to have lived in a number of places. He purchased a house in Stratford called New Place in 1597 but didn't live there regularly until 1613. While working, he stayed in various rented quarters in London. We know the location of one of them: the corner of Silver and Monkwell Streets, Cripplegate. Shakespeare lived at this house in 1604.
