Where did the Japanese word inu originate Was it in Chinese first and then into Japanese or just into Japanese the full time?

Because long time ago in japan, they got lots of stuff such as foods, Kanji(letter of chinese and also little japanese) and you know culture things so they have a lots of chinese things such as Inu!
