Where did the character Sweeney Todd come from? |

Sweeny Todd was a barber in old england who went to prison as a child. He was beaten every day and badly mis-treated. When he was released he took an apprenticeship as a barber and was later visited by one of the old prison guards who he killed. Whilst trying to hide the body he killed several more people. And he became known as the demon barber.

It should also be mentioned that he is NOT fictitious, first appearing in a penny dreadful (cheap, sensationalist novel) in the Victorian era.
