The first battle was fought at Lexington, where the so called 'shot heard around the world' was fired by an unknown gunman, beginning the first battle of the war. The British won this battle and marched on to Concord, where they were defeated and forced to retreat to Boston. On the way, they had to go back through Lexington, where the Revolvers were waiting to take revenge, causing another defeat for the British army.

The first battle of the American Revolution was the famous battles of Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts. Paul Revere had previously ran about the streets calling "the British are coming!" waking the Lexington "minute men" militia who were sleeping and did not respond to the call fast enough. 8 were shot and many others wounded. The British marched on to Concord where they were greeted with awake and ready minute men who had been forewarned by Revere and killed 70 British soldiers leaving many more wounded. The battle of Lexington and Concord was considered the shot heard around the world, because no one had ever dared to challenge the British to war.
