A horse cannot just live anywhere. In the wild, horses live anywhere but where humans live. With a domesticated horse it will live in a fenced in pasture with AT LEAST 1 acre of land. It could live in a barn, but make sure you have some land for it to go to. Remember, horses aren't just any silly doll, they are living and breathing so they need to be out of the (house) or barn.
They live in a stable or in a field, or both for that matter. It all depends on what type of horse you are thinking of, for example, warmbloods, such as thoroughbreds will need more care and shelter from the cold. Whereas, the hardier ponies and horses, (more native breeds) such as new forest and darthmoor will be fine without stabling. :)xx
