Hamsters are found in the wild in Syria (all golden hamsters come from one litter found in Syria in 1930) and Russia. However, hamsters have been tamed and are kept as pets in almost every country in the world.
They all live in different places depending on the species. The Syrian hamster is originally from the Syrian Desert, Northern China is where Robo Dwarf hamsters came from at first, etc. Look it up on the internet but not on Wiki.
if it is a pet to someone it will live in a cage but if it is living in the wild it will live in tiny wholes in the ground and occasionally in hollow trees

yeah, cause hamsters doesn't like to live with another hamsters. sometimes the hamster may be too kind and will live with his hamster mate. What i prefer is to make live in separate cages.
