It depends on the insect. Some insects such as mosquitoes/dragonflies/damselflies can spend their larval stage in the water of ponds and streams. Adult forms of insects such as ladybugs will seek shelter under rocks, loose bark on trees and inside the walls of houses. Other insects such as Monarch butterflies can fly hundreds of miles south to spend the winter in Mexico, and return back to the U.S. next spring.
Following the food is the place where compost worms go in winter. The location reflects the access to prey, the stage in the worm's lifespan, the type of compost site, and the whim of those who engage in composting. An actively maintained and supplemented compost heap, pile, or pit will require greater activity over more seasons than a compost bin or container which is operational only seasonally, such as spring through summer.
Continue to process materials, die or rest are activities in which compost worms engage in winter. The activity depends upon the stage in the worm's life cycle and natural history and upon the state of the compost. A compost bin to which recyclables constantly are added will encourage greater stretches of activity from the worms.
Deeper in to the soil. It's warmer and they can hibernate, (sleep).
THEY GO UNDERGROUND and sleep for the winter.
Many insects die in winter. Some burrow into the ground or lay eggs in the ground that will hatch the next season.
Its hard because the worms are deep below from land, which makes the worms harder to find. Worms go deep below so they can prtect them selves from their predator.
hibernation
Try dropping some straight chlorine on top of it
Yes they do Hibernate. They have to get food and eat before they go into a DEEP sleep.
Winter. And Winter. And DEEP Winter.
bacteria
to look for food
It does not. It does not have predators in the deep sea.
Worms feed on organic matter in the soil. How deep they go depends on soil conditions such as: how deep they can find a reasonable amount of food, how deep is the water table (no snorkels on worms), how far down can they go without running into hard packed clay or bed rock. As long as they have the basic conditions of life they can survive.
The animal crawls into a den and goes into a deep sleep. firs of all it is Hibirnate. then, they go to sleep in winter
