The 10th digit in a 17 digit V.I.N. or frame number represents the year of your machine.

A = 1980 B = 1981 C = 1982 D = 1983 E = 1984 F = 1985 G = 1986 H = 1987

J = 1988 K = 1989 L = 1990 M = 1991 N = 1992 P = 1993 R = 1994 S = 1995

T = 1996 V = 1997 W = 1998 X = 1999 Y = 2000 1 = 2001 2 = 2002 3 = 2003

4 = 2004 5 = 2005 6 = 2006 7 = 2007

The frame numbers on ATVs can usually be found on the lower left frame rail. Some Suzuki ATV frame numbers are located on the rear frame rail. Some Honda ATV frame numbers are located on the front on a flat plate in the center of the frame. Most motorcycle frame numbers are on the steering neck below the handlebars

1984 Honda TRX200 is on the front on a flat plate behind the bumper

Honda FL250 Odyssey is on the right rear frame near the the rear brake caliper

Suzuki LT250 Quad runner is on the left rear diagonal rail leading to the grab bar

Suzuki LTZ250 or Z250 is located on the left side on the horizontal frame tube next to the tail light. It is a welded on tag that faces out.
