Where do you get carpenter bugs on monster hunter freedom unite?

Your felyne can find them depending on how far you are I would guess stars

1-3 you can find them in various bug spots in your farm in the first area on the snowy mountains to the west near the exit. Believe me the same thing happened with me.

You can get carpenter bugs buy getting a mega bugnet and find it almost everywhere there are those firefly things. I normally just bring my gathering felyne, do a gathering mission on the snowy mountains, there should be a gathering spot in the area 2 and both of us try to find some, then i just keep trying. You can buy one at the Pokke village.

I normally get them through the pokefarm and using a mega bugnet on practically any areas where you can use the bugnet, but they are sort of rare to get, just keep trying.
