The vacuum tree is located at the back of the upper intake manifold on the MPFI engines. Edited answer: the vacuum tree is located (looking from the front of the motor) on the right rear side (driver's side) of the upper intake maniforld. You can locate the disconnected hose and reinsert it to one of the vaccum branches. Do this with a cold engine, a flashlight. Reach your hand through the wires, locate the hose and reconnect. For an older aerostar, there is probably oil on the vaccum tree, you may want to clean it with a non-flammable cleaner fluid/cloth.
As far as I can tell, there is no EGR valve on 1993 Ford Aerostar 3.0L engines. I have searched and found none and the vacuum hose routing decal in the engine compartment does not show an EGR valve.

Remove the vacuum hose from modulator use small screw driver (pocket screwdriver) when hose is off you will see slots in the end where vacuum hose connects screw in or out then reattach hose and test drive may take couple of adjustments to get where you want.
