In the menu bar, under Safari, go to preferences. When the preference window opens, click on Security. You'll see 3 options for 'Accept cookies'. The default is 'Only from sites you navigate to'. If you want to turn cookies off... select 'Never' option. Then when you want them back on, select the default again.

You don't usually have to turn off the "mouse and keyboard" at all. On some models of the mac, the power button was on the keyboard, but pressing it starts the computer, it doesn't turn off the keyboard. If you have a wireless keyboard/mouse, then if you don't turn them off they're still running on battery power. The batteries won't last as long if you don't shut them off, but you don't HAVE to do it.

you go to control settings and press user , then it should have single user and then it says on/ and off and your press off !
