Anywhere someone will pay him/her to examine some promising exposed sedimentary rock. Or in a laboratory, examining and testing fossilized ancient life forms. Or in an office, writing papers, doing research, and theorizing about ancient life. Or in a classroom, teaching paleontology to anyone that wants to do any of the above.
