The final stage has finished on a circuit using the Champs-Elysées and the Tuileries gardens in Paris since the 1970s (the first few times, the stage was entirely on that circuit; now it generally starts with a run in from various places in the outer southern suburbs via the hills of the Chevreuse valley). Before that it was for many years at the velodrome in the Parc des Princes.
