Actually... the prophecies say that they "SHALL" know Him [future tense].

These are prophecies that speak of Jesus' return to earth with the Kingdom of God... when "all the naitons" of the earth will serve Him.

It's not like it is today... a weak "plea" [a cordial invitaion] for all nations to come to Christ. These are talking about Christ returning in Power and Glory as the world's King... to "save" it.

"And the Lord SHALL be known to Egypt [the Egyptians don't know Christ, now], and the Egyptians SHALL know the Lord in that Day [the Day of the Lord, as the prophecies call it].

"And the Lord SHALL smite Egypt: He shall smite it and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and He shall be intreated of Him, and shall heal them.

"In that Day [the Day of the Lord] SHALL there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria [Germany], and the Assyrian shall come to Egypt, and Egyptian to Assyria, and the Egyptian SHALL serve WITH the Assyrians.

"In that Day SHALL Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria [certainly not the case now], even a blessing in the midst of the land: whom the Lord of hosts SHALL bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt MY PEOPLE, and Assyria THE WORK OF MY HANDS, snd Israel MINE INHERITANCE." (Isa.19:21-25)

It's going to take the physical presence of the King on earth with His saints and His army, to make all the nations listen. Like today... no nation on earth is going to obey God, willingly.

In His end time prophecies... God speaks of the last of His wrath "His fury poured out" from the last seven "vial plagues" of Revelation 16: "...Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth." [verse 1]

"...An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land... I will send Mine anger upon thee, and will Judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompence upon thee all thine abominations." (Ezek.7:2-3)

"...the Day of trouble is near... Now will I shortly pour out My fury upon thee, and accomplish Mine anger upon thee... and ye shall know that I am the Lord that smiteth." (verses 7-9)

"For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the House of Israel... I will speak, and the Word that I speak SHALL come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged..." (Ezek.12:24-25).

The returning Christ will "smite the earth with the Words that come out of His mouth": "...with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked." (Isa.11:4)

The prophets of The Bible record repeatedly that Israel and all the nations of the world "shall know the Lord."

But because Jesus hasn't returned yet... this deceived, unbelieving world only sees them as "vain visions" of fools.

It's going to take Jesus Christ standing on the earth for them to "believe," know and understand.

"Then SHALL the Lord go forth, and FIGHT against those nations, as when He fought in the Day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that Day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley..." (Zech.14:3-4).

"And the Lord SHALL BE KING OVER ALL THE EARTH: in that Day SHALL there be One Lord, and His Name One." (verse 9) [Religions will be abolished]

"And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for ALL SHALL KNOW ME, from the least to the greatest." (Heb.8:11)

All the nations of the world "MUST" know the Lord before they will bow down to Him. And they all "SHALL" know Him... from the least to the greatest.

Not now. Not as long as the nations can't see Him. But when they see the signs of His return in the dark clouds that "SHALL" cover the earth. When they see His brilliant Light cutting through them... they will begin to "believe"... and understand that the "visions" were real... and they SHALL "mourn."

"...then SHALL all the tribes [nations] mourn, and they SHALL SEE the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with Power and Great Glory..." (Matt.24:30).

The Bible prophesys repeatedly, that they shall know the Lord. But the vast majority of the nations shall refuse to... until they experience His "fury poured out"... and actually SEE Him standing on the earth once more. But that shallremain a "vain vision" of fools among the nations until it happens.

For now... the nations don't know Him. Until Jesus returns and sends out His edicts and decrees to all the nations from His throne in Jerusalem... all the nations shall continue to pursue the obsession of their own various vain agendas. For now, the nations SHALL refuse and reject Him.

But they "must" and SHALL all know Him in the end:

"And it SHALL come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem SHALL even go up from year to year [for a thousand years] to WORSHIP THE KING, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles." (Zech.14:16)

The nations don't do that now... because there is no King... no Lord of hosts, in Jerusalem, yet. But, they SHALL all know Him.

Why must you know the Bible to worship God properly?

I wouldn't say you need to know the Bible inside out, but knowing key events can help you worship God. For example, on Christmas day - the day where Jesus was born - you're supposed to pray to God and thank him for the coming of Jesus. If you didn't know that he was born then, you wouldn't thank God for him. I wouldn't say that means you're not doing it properly, but some would.
