Best Answer

They occur in the thylakoid membranes of the chloroplasts in plant cells. They are light dependent in that they need the energy given off by the sun to "excite" the electrons in order to move down the electron transfer chain, which ultimately prepares them to be used by NADP+ to form NADPH to assist in the light independent cycle. What membrane do light dependent reactions take place?

Thylakoid membrane on the chloroplast.

The light dependent reactions take place inside chloroplast in stacks of?

Grana are stacks of thylakoids.

Where does the Light (dependent) reaction take place?

The light dependent reaction take place in the thylakoid of the chloroplast

Where in the chloroplast are ATP and NADPH formed during the light reactions?

The light dependent reactions take place in the thylakoid of the chloroplast. ATP is formed in the ATP synthase protein by the assistance of the hydrogen gradient produced in the electron transport chain.

How does light and dark reactions takes place?

The light dependent reaction occurs in the chloroplast. In the light dependent reaction, chlorophyll pigments absorb solar energy. This energy is then converted into a chemical form (not glucose). The water molecule is split into oxygen and hydrogen molecules. The dark reaction or the carbon fixation period occurs in the fluid matrix or stroma of chloroplast. The hydrogen product from the first reaction is combined with the carbon dioxide molecules to makes sugars. This results in the C3 or C4 cycle.

In which structure of chloroplast do the light-dependent reactions occur?

The light reactions occur in the thylakoid space, which can also be called the granum.

Where in the chloroplasts does the light-independent reaction occur?

The light-independent reactions occur in the storm of the chloroplast. The light- independent reactions are "independent" from light so they can happen else where. The light-dependent reactions happen in the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplast where the light is absorbed, and the reactions depend on the light.

A place where light reactions occur?

The place where light reactions occurs are the grana. These are composed of thylakoid sacs that are stacked and embedded in the chloroplast.

Which takes place inside the chloroplast?

Photosynthesis

Where do light dependent reactions occur in photosynthesis?

Light dependent reactions occur in the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplasts in photosynthetic organisms. The products (ATP and NADPH) are used in the second stage of photosynthesis, which is called the Calvin Cycle. (Oxygen is given off as a "waste" product - lucky for us!)

What is the cell organelle involved in the process of photosynthesis?

Chlorophyll is the pigment most associated with photosynthesis. It's stored in an organelle known as a chloroplast. The chloroplasts are found all throughout the cell, as each cell containing chloroplast might contain 10 to 100 of them.

What are two main reactions in photosynthesis and where do they take place?

the two stages are the light dependent variable reactions and the light dependent reactions or calvin cycle
