Where is Napoleon's Tomb?

Ahhhh…Napoleon: The greatest little man that supposedly nobody—well, maybe Jospehine—ever really loved. Apparently, somebody loved him, though, because his tomb is quite the big to do and can be found at Les Invalides—the church, not the hotel. Inside the church, under the dome is a huge coffin. Inside this coffin are five other small coffins—think Russian nesting dolls—each supposedly made of a different material. Inside the smallest and innermost of these coffins are Napoleon’s ashes. Les Invalides, which is actually a collection of military monuments and museums, tends to attract a lot of tourists and Napoleon’s tomb gets the bulk of the curiosity but, once you get to the tomb, there really isn’t much to look at besides the big outer structure. There also isn’t much of an explanation offered for why they needed six coffins to entomb Napoleon. But it’s neat to go have a look at, nonetheless. Note to shutterbugs: You’re supposedly not allowed to take pictures here, but many people, including myself, were snapping away and there was no attempt made by any of the staff to stop it.
