I don't know about the Delaware area specifically, but most furniture showrooms have a "back room" where they sell floor samples and items with tiny flaws. Often the price is less than half of the same item, new.
Often consignment stores have unique older pieces that you won't find elsewhere, at great prices. If the price seems a touch high, make them an offer.
Also be aware that you may not need "quality" as high as you believe. My first sofa was purchased used, from a furniture rental place. (They also have back rooms with returned items) I'm sure it was the cheapest construction you could possibly buy. (I paid $150 total for sofa and loveseat, delivered.) It lasted through kids jumping on it for 20 years. You will most likely get VERY tired of even poor quality furniture, before it wears out.
