By far it is in the nucleus. Neutrons are very slightly more massive than protons, but not all atoms have neutrons. All atoms will have at least one proton. Protons and neutrons are both much, much more massive than electrons. Relatively speaking.

An atom is made up of protons and neutrons in a nucleus, surrounded by smaller electrons. It takes 1830 electrons to make up the mass of one proton, so the majority of the mass is in the nucleus.

Why do some scientist say that most of the mass of an atom is located in the neucleus?

because neutrons have the most mass in an atom and neutrons are located in the nucleus.

nucleus

Where is most of the atoms mass found?

An atom's mass is concentrated in its nucleus, which is located in the center of the atom. Protons and neutrons within the nucleus are responsible for its mass; the electrons, which are located outside of the nucleus, don't contribute to the mass of the atom.

Rutherford said that almost all the mass of an atom is located in its what?

Rutherford discovered in the early 1900s that most of an atom's mass is located in its nucleus.

What is the heaviest part in a atom?

Most of the atom's positive charge and almost all of its mass is located in this region of the atom?

The nucleus.

Where is almost all of the mass in an atom is located?

Approximately all of the atom's mass is in the nucleus. The electrons contribute almost zero.No atom has more than 100 electrons, but eachproton or neutron in the nucleushas the mass of more than 1,800 electrons.

Where is most of the mass located in an atom and why?

in the centre within nucleus where protons and neutrons are located.protons and neutrons have atomic mass of 1 u each while electrons revolving around have mass=0u[almost negligible]. so most of the mass is located in centre of an atom.

Where is he mass of an atom concentrated?

99.9% of the mass of an atom is located in the nucleus
