At front of engine below the intake. It's easiest to get to by taking off the Power Steering pump.
Take off the thermostat housing which is located right where the top radiator hose clamps to the motor. thermostat will come right out. be sure to install the new one in the same way you take the old one out.
maybe check the thermostat.
thermostat help fan come on when the car is runnning, keep the engine from over heating
there are 2 large black hoses that come off of your radiator. the one located higher on the radiator (upper radiator hose) goes from your radiator to the thermostat housing. the thermostat housing is a metal tube that is bolted to the engine. the thermostat is located inside of the housing and can be accessed by removing the bolts
why does speedometer come on and off ?
The thermostat housing is where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine. remove the hose and the housing (2 bolts) and the thermostat is in there (it may come out with the housing)
Look where the upper and lower radiator hoses go after they come out of the radiator. There should be a housing on one of the two with 2 or 3 bolts holding it on. Remove the housing and the thermostat should be underneath.
thermostat is located between the rad and the engine under the throttle body inside the aluminum thermostat housing which has two screws holding is together and three medium size water hoses come out of the thermostat Housing.Undo the three clamps holding the three hoses to the housing then the thermostat housing will come out, then unscrew the two screws holding the thermostat housing together then you will find the thermostat.
The thermostat is located in the cooling neck located at the end of the cylinder head next to the distributor. Instructions: Drain coolant, remove both bolts to thermostat housing (one bolt may not come completely out because of a sensor and expect much coolant to pour out), unstick the thermostat housing from the engine, remove thermostat from engine, clean all gasket surfaces, install thermostat in engine with the spring towards the inside of the engine, install gasket with thermostat housing, tighten bolts, fill coolant, start and check for leaks.
The thermostat in the 3.5 engines is located on the front top, under the small fitting to which a rubber hose from the radiator goes. Replacement thermostats generally come with a gasket. When taking the bad thermostat out, note which way it points. You can doublecheck when installing if the new thermostat has the label "to radiator" on it.
Front of the engine block on left side, below the alternator. If you replace thermostat, it is easier to replace entire housing. When you purchase one it will all come as one unit.
It is located on the block end of the top hose coming from the Radiator. Remove the accessible bolts and just make the bottom one loose and the thermostat will easily come out. I just had mine removed for good after overheating. Car is running better.
