Any PCV valve should have two basic characteristics which help you locate it on the engine of your car. There should be a small hose, usually harder material, comming out of the crankcase. Most of the engines I have worked on have very few holes in the crankcase since it increases the chance of a loss of pressure. Sometimes the PCV valve seats firmly into the top of the crankcase instead. The second thing to look for is a hose connecting into the side of a valve cover. In most of my cars, this is located on the back side of the valve cover (the side facing the passenger compartment) and is usually difficult to get to. There are always wires or hoses running close or covering this from sight.
The PCV valve will be connected in some way to both the crankcase and the valve cover. (usually)
