It is located under the fuel tank. You must remove the seat and the side skins and then you will gain access to the fuel tank rear bolts. After removing them you must be very careful in lifting the tank. Having someone there to look under the tank while you lift is benificial. The tank will not completely come off but if you are lucky enough it will pivot to the rear and you will have enough slack in the fuel lines to significantly raise the tank to gain access to the battery. Good luck! Make sure to disconnect the fuel line quick connects before moving the gas tank. I didn't do this the first time I accessed the battery and broke one of my fuel line quick connects. Other than that, all of the above info is exactly correct.
