Not being sure what type (rider or pusher) or model mower we're talking about here....Here's my best guess: On a rider or lawn tractor the battery is usually under the seat or under the hood in the engine compartment. On a push mower, it may be under the engine shroud or...under the mower deck (usually in the back) behind a plastic cover. Sure fire way to find out is to grab hold of the wire (cable) at the starter and trace it. I'll guarantee you that one of the starter wires will lead you to the battery. Happy hunting, and good luck! :-)

As long as the battery in the lawnmower is a 12 Volt battery you will be fine.

Chances are the coil spring has a broken "locking tang" on the end. They are notorius for breaking when you pull the cord to start the mower. You can go to Sears and purchase the OEM replacememt fairly inexpensivly. The new spring is stronger and contains the instructions on how to install it.
Get a new battery, Auto parts stores sell them.
Could be many reasons such as a dead battery, loose or dirty connections, broken wires, bad starter switch, bad starter, bad solenoid, bad relay, bad or out of adjustment safety switches.
like you charge a car battery....use a trickle charger set to 12 volts
I would start by adding 1/2 quart then check the dipstick and keep adding and checking until it's full.
The oil drain plug for the Craftsman 625 series lawnmower is located on the bottom of the mower, just above the blade. Tip the mower back. The plug is round and threaded with a square head. Using the square head of a ratchet extension, twist the plug counterclockwise and remove. The oil will start draining. Once it has drained, replace the plug and tighten clockwise until snug. Replace with new lawnmower oil or SAE-30 weight oil.
how do you replace battery on key start mower
You can purchase a craftsman lawnmower online at any place that sells home appliances and tools. Canadian Tire, Walmart, Home Depot, and Home Hardware are all good places to start. You could also check out the manufacturers website as well.
The tractor may not start because there may be a problem with the battery. You also need to make sure you have enough gas.
The engine floods and you have to wait for the lawnmower to drain before you start it up again or it might start smoking.
