Where is the browser history?

Typically, it is located in "C:\Documents and Settings\{your user name}\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\ Replace {your user name} with the name that you are logged in with.

This folder can be a hidden folder on your system. Be aware that deleting the items in the history folder DOES NOT DELETE ALL TRACES of your browsing habits! There are many different locations and files that keep track of your browsing activity in Windows. Most are not able to be deleted while you are logged in. Some are also in the registry, which should not be modified without knowing EXACTLY what you are doing. There is really only one way of making sure that you are not leaving a trail on the Internet and that is to not use it. Other than that, there is always a record being created somewhere. If not on your computer, then on your ISP's or their DNS server or Google or Microsoft or Yahoo, or ..... the list goes on and on.
