Look at the drivers side, under the hood. Look down fron the firewall to where the engine meets the transmission. There you will find it! See this link for detailed instructions. Use thread sealant. Also, use some glue or other sticky on the socket when you remove the screw -- dropping it and hunting for it is no fun.

The 2000 Mercedes-Benz E3 20 crankshaft position in sensor is located on the back of the crankshaft. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to see the sensor.
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is located on the drivers side between the motor and the firewall. If it is faulty you may notice your car will not start, will turn off unexpectedly or will perform intermittently.
