1. Look underneath the inlet manifold on the left hand bank (under the dipstick guide) and the EN is a long raised number (on my 2.9 there are 10 digits)
2. Also look just behind the Power Steering pump and underneath the air inlet pipes from the air-filter box for either the BR C, BR D or BR E ident. code stamped in small letters. The C, D or E letter indicates compression ratio, max torque and max power output.

The 2006 Ford Mustang has a V6 engine.
The simple answer to this question is that a V6 is an engine that has six cylinders, there are two types, Inline 6 and V6. Inline 6 means that there are 6 cylinders in a row and a V6 means that the cylinders are in a V formation 3 on each side of the block. On the Ford Bronco II or the early Ford Rangers you would have what is refered to as a "Cologne" 2.9L V6. this is a 60° cast iron block V6 engine built by the Ford Motor Company in Cologne, Germany (thats where it gets its name from). The output was rated at 140 horsepower @4600 rpm for the Light trucks (1986-92 Ranger & 1986-90 Bronco II)
