Begin by removing the decorative cover from your 1990 Chevy Caprice factory radio. Remove the radio retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness and the antenna cable from the back of the radio.
Here is the info in your vehicle: Radio 12v red/white + radio harness Radio Ground black - radio harness Radio Ignition (GMLAN Serial Data) Radio Illumination yellow (dimmer) + radio harness Factory Amp Turn-on same as power antenna wire Power Antenna white + radio harness LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness or amplifier Notes: If equipped, the amplifier is under the rear of the center console. At the amplifier, the left subwoofer wires are dk. blue/white (+) - lt. green/black (-). The right subwoofer wires are dk. green (+) - lt. blue/black (-). RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness or amplifier LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness or amplifier RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue +,- radio harness or amplifier
The standard factory radio was an 1 1/2 DIN AM/FM/Cassette. If you wanted a cd player, an aux cd player was installed in the slot under the AC/heating controls.
It's behind the back seat on the driver's side.

The 2002 Nissan Pathfinder radio amplifier is contained in the radio. The amplifier cannot be separated from the standard radio.
If it is the factory radio turn on the ingition and make sure the radio is turned off, push the set button. for the hour push the seek button, for the minute push the scan button, to end push the set button again.

If it says BOSE on it anywhere it will have an amp for each speaker in the doors. The Factory GM radio does not have an amp and has poor sound to amplify. Most members of our forum choose and after market stereo to amplify. Come and read in our AUDIO section www.trailvoy.com
