It is inside of the fuel tank. You will have to remove the fuel tank from the truck to gain access to the fuel pump.

Chevy did not use a reset button/switch. You need to check fuel pump fuse and relay first. Then check the fuel pump itself.
Press schrader valve. If no fuel is there check fuse,
Drop the fuel tank. Take out fuel pump. Then replace. Be sure to detach your fuel lines (2) then detach the hose were you fuel up your truck at.

They have relocated the fuel filter in the Avalanches. They are now inside the fuel tank and built into the fuel pump.
The transmission fluid capacity for a 2002 Tahoe Z71 is 5 quarts. If you are starting with it totally empty it would be 11.2 quarts.
For my 99 sliverado 1500 z71 it took about an hour or less. Get the correct tools, drop the tank, slide the fuel pump in and reattach the tank.
