On the 6.0L Ford the fuel pump is located on the frame rail under the driver side where the large fuel filter housing in the Horizontal Fuel Conditioner Module (HFCM) unit is located. All the parts stores will show a fuel pump in the tank but it actually goes in the HFCM and acts to circulate fuel back to the tank while warming it up. It's a tough area to access because the drive shaft runs right next to it. You'll need a 1 3/8" socket to remove the fuel filter cap. The pump comes out with three small bolts.
I know that the 2003 ford f250 diesel was what they call the lemon year. They swiched from a 7.3 to 6.0
The 2003 Ford f250 did not come with an air cabin filter. There was a dealer install option but very few were ever put in.
