The fuel pump is controlled via the Automatic Shutdown Relay. This relay is located on the front fender, driver's side, behind the battery. It's the smallest relay in the group. hope this helps!

Then, empty the fuel tank completely and remove the pump from inside of the tank by releasing the tank straps to lower the tank. You then use a brass drift and hammer to drive the lock ring counter clockwise to loosen the pump.
The fuel pump relay is probably stuck. Try replacing the fuel pump relay.
that doesn't sound like the fuel pump relay...sounds like the fuel filter. look on the cross member immediately in front of the fuel tank
