GM vehicles are not equipped with inertia switches.
Chrysler does not use inertia switches.
Gm does not use inertia switches.
The inertia switch on a 1985 Mercedes 500 SEL is located in the passengers side kick panel.

GM vehicles do not use inertia/reset switches
The heater core on a 1985 Chevy Suburban is located under the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle. The glove compartment may have to be removed to access the heater core.
That would be an inertia switch. It shuts off the fuel pump in the event of an accident.

You should be able to reset it by pushing down on the tab on the switch. I am of course assuming that you are referring to the inertia switch. At the same time you push down on the switch take note of how hard it is to do it. It should feel quite firm if the switch is still good but if there is almost no effort at all the switch is likely shot. This applies to all Ford inertia switches of all years.
