This saying has been used by my family for generations in the Nottinghamshire area as a funny saying when someone is uncomfortably seated i.e. 'perched precariously on a chair'.... and I would like to know if anyone else has heard of the saying or used it? There is no record on the internet of this saying, is it Victorian? is it Northern? has it been used in Literature anywhere?
