i have a 1999 4cyc passat that over heats within 2 miles of driving .i replced the thermostat and radiator cooling fan relay where the aux.fan kicks in when the ac is on. when the car over heats the ac air coming thru the vent is warm and the coolant flows bubbling into the resivor. the top hose is hot with alot of pressure and the bottom hose is cool.what else can i check.
Usually located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
The thermostat is located on the water pump. If you follow the lower radiator hose to the end not connected to the radiator you will find it.

The thermostat is located behind the alternator. It sits in a hose assembly that comes from the engine. Simply trace the lowere radiator hose to the engine and you will find it.
