The thermostat is in a housing on the side of the block. If you look between the radiator and the valve cover in line with the oil fill cap you will see three hoses going into one aluminum housing just above the starter. Do not pull the 2 10mm bolts in the side. Lift the car and pull the 2 8mm bolts from the bottom. Sorry but even after prolonged draining you will most likely still get wet:)
