where is vaccum pump for 300sl and how do you check it
My 84 D turbo has the lock vacuum pump in with the spare tire .
no it is operated by the vacuum pump under the rear seat
The doors on most Mercedes in the 1990's operate by air pressure caused from a vacuum pump. If you have no suction, first begin checking the air/vacuum lines themselves for leaks. If this does not work, consider taking it to your local mechanic or dealer for pump replacement.
Each of the four doors has a vacuum element that locks/unlocks each lock. The vacuum pump also called a pse pump is located under rear seat next to the battery. This pump supplies the vacuum to each of the door locks when activated.
Let me now the VIN number and I tell you.
it is located under the rear seat on the right side
hello this cars are very sensitive for poor battery power ,pump should stop within 3-4 sec if not than maybe wires
Because the vacuum pump has stopped retracting in. There is a close assist vacuum pump that will close the trunk from the first stop and retract the handle. Sometimes this can be reset by undoing the battery cable for a while. If that does not work check the fuses, it is common to blow the vacuum pump fuse. If that fails replace the pump, they are fairly cheap on eBay by Bosch. If that fails check the line between the pump and the trunk mechanism.
Maybe about 45 minutes to let the car cool down, so you can uninstall the vacuum pump between the firewall and attached to the back of the engine (upper rear left/passenger side) which will take you about 30 minutes if replacing a new vacuum pump, and up to one hour if you replace the three gaskets only.
The fuel pump relay is located directly over the fuel pump inside the car under the back seat on passenger side off the vehicle.
easiest and cheapest is to just buy a replacememt pump and install this is an easy job not requiring much skill as a mechanic
