Answer
When a third party is involved, typically your health ins should have asked you if this was due to an accident. And your claims should have been rejected for payment. However, not knowing your situation, it is possible, that with a long extended drawn out battle with the car ins...your health ins made an acception. But, they will seek reimbursement if they catch wind that you have settled. Now, if they had know idea what so ever? Well, in all honesty, they should be reimbursed.
