Broad question, deserving a broad answer. A very few have genuine historical value. There are excellent modern reproductions of classic patterns, and there are beautiful quilt of modern design. Quilting was a meeting of a group of ladies at a church, grange or lodge who met weekly to pray, chat, gossip and show off their talent. Quilts completed by a single individual are extremely rare and valued. A quilt with pure vegetable or animal dyes can be almost priceless to a collector.
